Pottery Work of Giuseppe Deiana Presentation
A Ceramics Gallery
The works of Joseph Deiana, where the tradition and the imagination are melted in an extremely balanced mélange.
We find to us so in front of vases, flat, chandeliers and other objects of the daily life,
where the note sobriety of the Sardinian tradition, leaves space to forms and decorations
that they also confer lightness and elegance to the humblest object,
where the colors crayon they almost infuse a new youth to these fragments of life,
that are animated of new vivacity.
But the ability of Joseph is not stopped here, since here that, preponderant,
its fantastic mind comes out and from its hands works are born together from the mythical and ethnic taste.
We find to us so to admire vases where the myth
of "Janus Double-head" is enriched of fantastic details
that make us think about civilization disappeared for a long time,
as if in our unconscious collective has been engraved the memories of fathers;
a taste for the archaic one, the search of primitive and essential motives,
that make of every piece a history apart.

The same motives that we find again in the masks, turn grotesque, transfigured by a primordial humanity,
in the warlike ships that are about to leave our coasts and to venture for beaches where any man has ever been.
An universe to be discovered, this of Joseph Deiana, where the wooden color of the ceramics
comes is made vivified from the decorations in gold and bronze or the greens and turquoises that postpone to the uncontaminated seas...

Besides the professionalism, it shines through in Joseph a playful soul that knows how to appreciate
and to again invent the forms of life that surround us; its hands engrave in the clay the beauty of the nature:
butterflies, turtle and owls, animated by fantastic colors, they invade walls and windows,
making us taste so the taste of the fable and the legend.
A man therefore, to the insignia of our time, where the past and the future go to the search
of a new identity, eclectic, a run that goes over the limits and the confinements of the earth where he was born:
The Sardinia.
