Sardinia: Nuraghe of Barumini
Next to the country of Barumini it is possible to admire the Nuraghe "Su Nuraxi", one of the most famous
and important archaeological sites of Sardinia, present in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
The building is constituted from the central part contained
from a bastion quadrilobate and from a further building structure with 4 towers.
Around the nuraghe (old - Ancient Fortress) an ample village of huts is developed,
among these the so-called hut of the head and tied up environments to specific domestic or ritual activities.
The huts of the village Nuraghic period go up again to the last period of use of the archaeological site,
under the domination Punic and Roman (VIII Century B.C.).
The huts have maintained the almost original structure that consists: in a
circular plant generally, atrium, a number of rooms that could vary from 4 to 8 rooms, well and oven. Near
the external boundaries (antemurale) of the Nuraghe they are met residences that go up again to the first
part of the installation, with a structure mono-cellular. Then we find the curtain building day-pupil built
in the age of the Iron (IX-VIII Century B.C.),
is drawn in reality of a change to a structure (antemurale)
that it enclosed the most ancient sector of the village (age of Bronze Recent,
XI-X Century B.C.).
