Morphologie: hauteur 5-40 centimètres, diamètre de la fleur 3-5 centimètres grandissent aux petits groupes de 5-10 exemplaires. Couleur violette avec partie blanche intérieure centrale. Contrairement à autres iris le bulbe est situé en profondeur dans le terrain et avec une gaine fibreuse. Feuilles cannelées et penchées, 1 ou 2 provisions d'une gaine longue plus que l'inflorescence.

Menaces

Les menaces les plus graves à la survivance de la Tortue de Herman sont représentées par les incendies principalement qui chaque été ils détruisent milliers d'hectares de zones à la garrigue.

Morfologia: altezza 5-40 centimetri, diametro del fiore 3-5 centimetri, cresce a piccoli gruppi di 5-10 esemplari. Colore viola con parte centrale interna bianca. A differenza di altri iris il bulbo è situato in profondità nel terreno e con una guaina fibrosa. Foglie scanalate e pendenti, 1 o 2 provviste di una guaina lunga più dell'infiorescenza.

 

Le Minacce

Le minacce più gravi alla sopravvivenza della Testuggine di Herman sono rappresentate principalmente dagli incendi, che ogni estate distruggono migliaia di ettari di zone a macchia mediterranea.
